Animation Fundamentals - Project 1
27/8/19 - //19 (Week 1 to Week 14)
Project 1
PROJECT 1: Limited Animation
Went through the brief, lecturer explained the projects.
Learned a little about the history of animation and where it all started from this website:
https://history-of-animation.webflow.io/
Learned about the 12 principles of animation, appeal and staging are most important.

Went deeper into Project 1, where we had to do a stop-motion GIF with the motion sample given by our lecturer:
PROCESS:
Discussed with classmates on the keyframes and divided into a few parts to work on:
Did the stop motion with everyone in the photo studio, we were kinda clueless on how to position the lighting at first but it came out well in the end.
Drawings of my part of the frames in Photoshop:
This is my part of the stop motion:
FINAL:
Compilation of the stop motion with everyone's work in it:
DISCUSSION:
We also had a class discussion on animation principles, and put them into slides notes:
Ms Anis suggested us to watch Fantastic Mr. Fox, and I did. It felt quite different and weird compared to the usual movies I watch, especially the awkward silence after they try to crack a joke. But the stop motion effects were awesome.
